Business internet anywhere in South Africa — from low-earth orbit.
Cosmiq Satellite Internet runs on the Eutelsat OneWeb low-earth-orbit (LEO) constellation, around 1,200 km up. That means fibre-like latency of ~40–80 ms, an SLA of 75/15 Mbps and speeds of up to ~124/32 Mbps — for farms, mines, lodges, construction sites and branches beyond fibre, or as a fully independent backup link.
Two ways to buy LEO satellite
Access is uncapped with a daily fair-use allowance; Connect gives you a monthly data bundle at full speed all month. All packages are on a 24-month term and exclude VAT.

Connect keeps full speed until your monthly bundle is used; data beyond the bundle is charged at R34.80/GB ex VAT. We’ll help you size the bundle to your expected usage up front.
All prices exclude VAT. Speeds: SLA of 75/15 Mbps, with up to ~124/32 Mbps achievable. Subject to a clear view of the sky and site survey. See OneWeb coverage across Africa or check your address.
Two OneWeb terminals, matched to your site
Both are electronically steered flat-panel terminals — no dish to point and no moving parts. We recommend the right one for your usage during the site survey.
Intellian OW10HL
A compact, single-panel terminal that sends and receives in turns. Ideal for everyday business use — browsing, email, cloud apps and point-of-sale.
- Compact flat panel, ~56 × 45 × 12 cm, ~12 kg
- IP66 weatherproof, single-person install
- Indoor CNX unit supplies power and data
Hughes HL1120W
A dual-panel terminal that sends and receives at the same time — the choice for video calls, VoIP, CCTV uploads and heavier two-way traffic.
- Self-aligning electronically steered antenna
- Indoor unit with Wi-Fi 6 router and 2× GigE LAN
- Aluminium, weather-resistant outdoor unit
What to expect from low-earth-orbit satellite
LEO satellites orbit far closer than traditional geostationary satellites, so latency is comparable to fibre. Here’s the honest picture.
With speeds potentially reaching ~124/32 Mbps.
Comparable to fibre — fine for Teams, Zoom, VoIP and cloud apps.
About every 90 minutes the link hands over to the next satellite. Latency may spike to ~140–300 ms for under a second; the connection doesn’t drop.
From signed order to live, including site survey and mounting.
No fibre, towers or line of sight to a base station needed.
Add next-day onsite support for R1,020.00/mo ex VAT.
OneWeb coverage across Africa
The OneWeb constellation covers the whole continent. Where service can be sold depends on each country’s licensing — tap a country to see its status.
- South Africa — Cosmiq installs hereAvailable now. We survey, install and support your link.
- Service launchedNamibia and Angola — OneWeb service is live in-country. Ask us about cross-border sites.
- Rolling outBotswana and Zambia — commercial service is being rolled out.
- Satellite footprintThe rest of Africa is inside the OneWeb footprint; service is subject to local licensing. Ask us.
Country status is based on published Eutelsat OneWeb and partner announcements and can change as licences are granted. Ask us about a site outside South Africa.
Everything you’d want to ask about LEO.
Satellite internet for sites where fibre and fixed wireless can’t reach — or as a backup that doesn’t share any infrastructure with your main line.
Who is satellite internet for?
Farms, mines, lodges, construction sites, remote branches and any business beyond fibre or fixed-wireless reach. It’s also a strong backup link: because it doesn’t rely on local fibre or towers, it keeps you online when terrestrial networks go down.
Should I choose Access or Connect?
Access is uncapped with a daily fair-use allowance — you’re never billed for extra data, but speed is reduced once you pass the daily allowance. Connect gives you a monthly bundle at full speed all month, with extra data charged at R34.80/GB ex VAT. If your usage is steady and predictable, Connect is usually better value; if it’s spiky or hard to predict, Access protects you from surprise bills.
Will the connection drop when satellites hand over?
No. Roughly every 90 minutes your terminal hands over to the next satellite. You may see a brief latency spike of about 140–300 ms lasting less than a second, but the connection stays up.
What’s the difference between half- and full-duplex terminals?
A half-duplex terminal (Intellian OW10HL) sends and receives in turns, which suits everyday business traffic. A full-duplex terminal (Hughes HL1120W) sends and receives simultaneously, which is better for video conferencing, VoIP, CCTV and large uploads. We’ll recommend the right one during your site survey.
Where is Cosmiq satellite internet available?
Anywhere in South Africa with a clear view of the sky — from KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng to the most remote farms and sites. For other African countries, see the OneWeb coverage map and ask us about your site.
Get connected wherever you are.
